Port Vale manager says he welcomes a selection headache
Port Vale manager Neil Aspin says that “I want to have selection headaches” after a number of squad players impressed during the Checkatrade win over Burton Albion.
Theo Vassell, Idris Kanu and sub Ricky Miller all arguably did their chances no harm with decent performances.
I want to have selection headaches – I want everybody fit and if I have everybody fit then I still maintain that we can match the teams in this division…
Aspin told the media: “I want to have selection headaches – I want everybody fit and if I have everybody fit then I still maintain that we can match the teams in this division.
“It’s got to be done on a consistent basis but we have to prepare properly for every game.
“There will always be reasons why you pick a team – it doesn’t always come off but you don’t just throw a team together.
“You discuss it, you prepare and there’s always a reason for it but we’ve got to look at our opponents on Saturday and pick a team that can get a result.”
