Port Vale manager says he was insulted by Grimsby club official
Port Vale manager Neil Aspin has said that abuse by a Grimsby Town club official was unacceptable.
The Valiants lost 2-0 on Saturday and the Vale manager apologised for his reaction to the abuse.
To get abuse from some Grimsby director, or from someone stranding there with a Grimsby tie on, giving you abuse on the way off, I won’t accept that…
He told the media: “I shouldn’t have reacted at the end, but when you’re given abuse it’s hard to take sometimes.
“To get abuse from some Grimsby director, or from someone stranding there with a Grimsby tie on, giving you abuse on the way off, I won’t accept that.
“It’s completely out of order. If that’s the way that football is going, I am not happy about it at all.
“Obviously you get stick off some of your own supporters, which you have to take, but to be getting it off someone that has got a Grimsby tie on is out of order.”
