Port Vale fans can watch game against Stevenage live on the internet
Port Vale fans based abroad or in the UK can watch Port Vale’s League One game away at Stevenage live on the Internet. That’s in case they’re not busy playing bingo online
The Valiants take on Stevenage on Tuesday evening and fans unable to make the game (including the large contingent of exiled UK-based fans – many of whom have work, family or other commitments preventing them from attending in person) will be able to pay £10 to watch a live stream.
A new initiative means that games that are not televised and are not scheduled to start at 3pm on Saturday will be made available on the iFollow service.
Fans based in the UK and Ireland can watch live Football League or Checkatrade games provided that:
- They fall outside of UEFA’s Article 48 Blocked Hours (14:45-17:15 on a Saturday)
- They fall outside Bank Holidays
- They have not been selected for broadcast on Sky Sports or Pitch International

Despite the reservations of some media commentators, this really is a great thing to be able to watch matches that are expensive, difficult and nearly impossible to get to for many undoubtedly loyal fans.
If it is found that gates are affected, perhaps a compromise would be that only the away sides ifollow site would allow the match the be shown, so Vale away games would be available to Vale fans – but I am not totally convinced that many of the people watching would have gone to the game anyway.
