Scott Quigley praised after goalscoring reserves outing
Port Vale coach Mick Ede has praised loan striker Scott Quigley after he scored for the reserves in a 2-1 win over Morecambe.
Ede told the Sentinel newspaper: “To be honest, he has done better than probably we could have thought because he has held the ball up really well for us and been the pinnacle of our attack with two young lads running in from deeper positions.
“So, he has done what we asked him and come up with a goal in the end. He potentially could have had a couple more but he is in the box and getting shots off which is what he needs.
“He needs that 90 minutes of competitive football, and it was a competitive game.”
