Port Vale striker pushes for start after goalscoring display for reserves
On loan striker Scott Quigley pushed for inclusion in the Port Vale first-team squad after scoring twice for the reserves.
Quigley partnered another loanee, Idris Kanu, upfront for Vale reserves in their game against Notts County on Wednesday afternoon with both doing their chances no harm.
Quigley has impressed this season for the Vale second string. He also scored in Vale reserves’ 2-1 win over Morecambe earlier this month.
Blackpool forward Quigley scored twice and also hit the woodwork while Kanu also netted in a 5-3 win for the Valiants. The other scorers for the home side were winger David Worrall and an own-goal.
Vale named a strong reseve side which included winger Brendon Daniels, transfer-listed defender Joe Davis and veterans Danny Pugh and Antony Kay.
