Aspin on Gibbins: I love his attitude but he needs to be more consistent
Neil Aspin says right-back James Gibbons was left out of the matchday squad against Forest Green Rovers because he is lacking consistency.
Gibbons was a surprise absentee from the squad with Mitch Clarke starting as right-back and Luke Hannant dropping back to the left-back position in the absence of the injured Cristian Montano.
He knows himself he hasn’t played to the heights he did when he was in the team when I first came. But James is for the future and I am sure he will be here longer than me….
Aspin told the Sentinel newspaper: “I have given James a lot of praise but at the end of the day if you want to be a professional footballer and want a long career, you have to be consistent. James is still learning. I think he is a great lad and I have got a lot of time for him, I love his attitude.
