Port Vale await news on Tom Pope back injury
Port Vale face an anxious wait for an assessment of Tom Pope’s back injury.
The talisman frontman was forced off during Vale’s 2-0 defeat to Colchester United on Saturday afternoon.
Manager Neil Aspin commented: “He landed awkwardly and he has a spasm in his back, so he had to come off. He couldn’t move. The last thing you need when you are 2-0 down is to lose your top goalscorer.”
Vale face Lincoln City on Tuesday evening with Pope looking doubtful to make the Johnstone’s Paints Trophy clash.
Pope is Vale’s top scorer this season with two goals and has ninety in his Vale career so far.
