Neil Aspin praises professionalism of transfer-listed duo
Manager Neil Aspin says transfer-listed pair Joe Davis and Tyrone Barnett have “conducted themselves really well.”
Both players were transfer-listed at the end of the season but Aspin says it is nothing personal.
It is all about opinions in football. It is not to say they couldn’t go elsewhere and do well…
He told the Sentinel: “They are available to go out on loan or for transfer. At the moment nothing is happening, but it only needs somebody to express an interest or to pick up an injury and it can change. But there is nothing happening at the moment on that score.
“It is difficult for the player, the first thing is it has to be about the player and it is difficult for any player who is not part of things and basically is not wanted.
“To be a professional footballer you have a lot of pride and that is dented. But you have to train and keep playing at whatever level it is. They have conducted themselves really well.
“It is all about opinions in football. It is not to say they couldn’t go elsewhere and do well. It is just that for this season with changing the squad around, I wanted to bring in my own players and it isn’t anything personal. You hope they can find a club where they are happy and they can continue their career.”
