Loanwatch: Dan Turner starts, Rob Lainton injured

Dan Turner is already in the first-team reckoning but it’s a different story for keeper Rob Lainton.

Dan Turner (Falkirk)

Striker Dan Turner started Falkirk’s Scottish League Cup tie against Forfar. Falkirk won 2-0 although Turner failed to get on the scoresheet.

Turner also appeared as a sub in Falkirk’s first League Cup  game – a loss to Montrose *

* If any Vale fans are confused why Falkirk are still in the cup after a loss it’s because the early rounds of the Scottish League Cup are played in groups

Rob Lainton (Wrexham)

The goalkeeper’s season-long loan at Wrexham has not got off to the best start. Lainton picked up an injury as did rival keeper Christian Dibble which meant Wrexham had to line-up with a trialist in goal for their friendly against Bangor City.

Ironically, opponents Bangor featured former Valiant Harry Pickering in goal.
