At time of writing, the Vale manager has brought in a host of new players including goalkeeper Scott Brown, defenders Leon Legge and Connor Rawlinson, midfielders Luke Joyce and Manny Oyeleke, winger Brendon Daniels and forwards Louis Dodds and Ricky Miller.

Neil Aspin has done as well as he could in what is not an easy market, and with limited spending money. We had the basis of a decent side at the end of last season and the additional guys will, hopefully, bolster the situation. You don’t have the availability of star players in League Two and you have to get as good as you have access to. Have a great season lads – we will be cheering for you.

It seems that some fans are so gullible that they are happy with Smurf making just a tiny fraction of the incoming windfalls of £2m + he has had and will settle for that.
Aspin has made good use of what funds he had, and there are some promising signings but if the blue swindler had spent aniother 25 per cent of his incoming money, we could have had 2 or 3 more good players. He has fooled and used Vale fans once again, and spent the money on buying Nuneaton’s ground.
