Neil Aspin wants a better style of play from Port Vale
Neil Aspin says there will be less “hoofball” from his side as he vows to play out from the back.
Aspin says defensive midfielder Luke Joyce will play a key role as he is “comfortable” on the ball.
We are going to have to get our midfielders on the ball and they have an important role to play. I can see Luke being a part of doing that…
Aspin commented: “I don’t want to play 20 passes across our own 18-yard box, but I certainly don’t want to go from back to front just lumping the ball. We are going to have to get our midfielders on the ball and they have an important role to play. I can see Luke being a part of doing that.
“In the home game against Carlisle we were poor, but they were good in possession and he was comfortable on the ball, and that’s important.”
