James Gibbons unhappy with form but happy with development
Defender James Gibbons says that while his current form is not good enough, he’s happy with his progress this season.
Gibbons had made just one senior appearance prior to this campaign but made the right-back slot his own with a series of barnstorming performances.
I hit a good run of form, but I haven’t been able to find it again after my suspension…
Gibbons told the media: “I’ve got my place back in the starting eleven, but I’m still not happy with how I’m playing.
“I hit a good run of form, but I haven’t been able to find it again after my suspension.
“I don’t think the red cards have had anything to do with it. I’ve learnt from them both, and I haven’t done anything stupid since.
“I think I’ll get the form back though, with the more games that I play. For whatever reason, sometimes my distribution’s off, but I’ll get it back.”
However, the defender still feels he has learnt a great deal this season adding: “I feel like I’ve developed massively. At training sessions when you’ve got all the lads round you, the more experienced ones are always talking to you.
“I’m only 19, so if you look at it that way, you can only get better.”
