Neil Aspin targets two new signings
Port Vale manager Neil Aspin says he wants to bring in two new signings before the end of the January transfer window.
The Vale manager says the club are working hard to bring in additions to the squad as well as move some players out.
I have already said we would like to bring a defender into the squad and I am still hopeful that I will get a couple of players in before the end of the transfer window…
Aspin told the media: “I have already said we would like to bring a defender into the squad and I am still hopeful that I will get a couple of players in before the end of the transfer window.”
The manager has also revealed that he has missed out on a potential new signing. He added: “We tried to get a midfield player from a Championship club but if they can get those players to a higher level than us then they are going to do that.
“There were other clubs in our league who wanted him as well, but he has gone to a higher level so that is fair enough. We will keep looking at players.”
Vale have added striker Donovan Wilson and Dior Angus to their squad already but are keen to add a defender and a midfielder to their squad before the end of the transfer window.
