Striker Tom Pope said “it’s always great” to be captaining the Valiants as he prepares to lead out the team at Yeovil.
Pope commented: “I was captain a few times in my first spell here and it’s a great honour, but it doesn’t really change what I’m about.
It’s always great leading the lads out and winning the game on Saturday was brilliant…
“Whether I’m wearing the armband or not, I’m not afraid to speak up if I feel somebody is having an off day, or equally, if they’re doing well – I’ll tell them regardless.
“It’s always great leading the lads out and winning the game on Saturday was brilliant, but I’m not going to change.
“Football is all about getting people playing at the peak of their powers and it’s on us more experienced lads to dig them out at times.”
