Major blow for Port Vale as James Gibbons handed four game ban
Port Vale defender James Gibbons has been banned for four games after his second red card of the season.
Gibbons was dismissed in the second-half of the FA Cup tie with Yeovil – his second dismissal at Huish Park – on Tuesday evening.
The 19 year-old defender would have been given a three game ban for his dismissal but as this is his second red of the season the ban has been increased to four games.
Cristian Montano has been banned for one game following his red card in the same game.
The Valiants have options to replace Montano with the likes of Ben Whitfield and Jack Stobbs able to play in the Colombian’s position but are more limited with their right-back options.
Adam Yates is sidelined after his injuries suffered playing for the reserves while Joe Davis has had a thigh injury so it leaves Lawrie Wilson as the squad’s only recognised right-back.
