Aspin tells Vale players – Checkatrade clash is still important
Manager Neil Aspin has reminded his players that Tuesday’s Checkatrade Trophy clash with Crewe is an “opportunity” to impress.
Aspin is expected to make changes for the clash but he says the game is still very important for the club.
Any game is an opportunity for players to stake a claim and tonight’s performance is a marker for them…
The Vale manager told the official website: “In terms of importance you can’t class it up there with the FA Cup and we will have to make changes for that game,” Aspin said.
“But, any game is an opportunity for players to stake a claim and tonight’s performance is a marker for them.
“I expect the players to work as hard as they have done tonight, so anyone playing on Tuesday, that’s what I demand.”
The game may be a chance for the likes of Anton Forrester to gain more match fitness while it will be interesting to see which of Ryan Boot, Dimitar Evtimov and Sam Hornby start in goal.
