Aspin: the fans can inspire the team to get a result
New Port Vale manager Neil Aspin urges the fans to support his team and get a result against Grimsby Town on Saturday.
Vale legend Aspin was appointed manager on Wednesday and told the official Port Vale website: “It’s a bit of a whirlwind at the moment, but we’ve only got a couple of training sessions before that game.
They need the support of all Port Vale fans and I know how much the club means to the supporters here. If they show that passion, it is then up to the lads to respond…
“It’s great to have a home game to start with, but it’s all about the result. If we don’t get the right one it would be disappointing, but I’m looking forward to it.
“The biggest thing is that the supporters get behind the team. It’s not about myself in the dugout or whoever is in the stands, it’s about the players on the pitch.
“At this moment in time, they need the support of all Port Vale fans and I know how much the club means to the supporters here. If they show that passion, it is then up to the lads to respond.”
