Three clubs chase Port Vale winger Ryan Lloyd
Three National League sides are reportedly chasing Port Vale’s out-of-favour winger Ryan Lloyd.
Lloyd is currently enjoying a successful loan spell at Chester FC but it would be no surprise if the winger was allowed to move on as Vale look to trim their large squad down to size.
According to the Chester Chronicle newspaper, Chester, Southport and one other unnamed National League side are trying to secure the winger on a permanent basis and a transfer fee could be involved.
Chester manager (and former Vale legend) Jon McCarthy told the newspaper: “I’ll have to fight as hard as I can to see if we can make him stay. He likes it here and he is in a team that is fighting in the top half of the table. We have a good relationship with Port Vale and so we will do everything to try and keep him.”
Lloyd has been a professional at Vale Park since 2010 but in six years he has made just two starts and sixteen sub appearances as he failed to cement a regular place in the starting eleven.
