Port Vale sell Anthony Grant to Peterborough United
Port Vale sell Anthony Grant: Peterborough United have confirmed that last season’s Port Vale player of the year, Anthony Grant, has moved to London Road.
A tweet from the official Peterborough United Twitter account confirmed the transfer saying:
GRANT SIGNS | We are pleased to confirm the signing of Anthony Grant from Port Vale for an undisclosed fee. More to follow. #deadlineday

Experienced battling midfielder Grant began his career with Chelsea and also had spells with Southend United, Stevenage and Crewe Alexandra as well as going out on loan four times. He had over 300 senior appearances to his name before joining the Valiants.
He joined Port Vale in 2015 after being signed by then manager Rob Page and was a runaway winner of last season’s player of the year award.
However, when Bruno Ribeiro was appointed he submitted a transfer request in the summer and Port Vale subsequently rejected a bid from Northampton Town.
Grant made 69 appearances for the Valiants and scored three goals during his stay in Burslem. This season he had played 24 times and was one of three “joint” captains appointed by manager Bruno Ribeiro.
The departure of Grant will mean that Port Vale caretaker manager Michael Brown will have to move quickly to replace a key player in the team’s engineroom.
