Vale injury boost as Anton Forrester plays (and scores) for the reserves
Striker Anton Forrester started for Port Vale’s reserve side against Wrexham on Tuesday.
The striker scored from the penalty spot on 35 minutes and young defender Luke Dennis headed home on 67 minutes as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
Forrester started the season brightly with two goals in his first six games but he then picked up a number of injuries and has been sidelined since the beginning of October.
The news is a welcome boost for the Valiants who were down to two available strikers (Martin Paterson and Rigino Cicilia) for the FA Cup game against Stevenage.
Alex Jones is expected to be in full training this week and youngster Dan Turner is available after being cup-tied which could mean Bruno Ribeiro will have up to five forwards to pick from for the home game against Fleetwood.
