Lloyd: it didn’t look like it was going to work out for me
Loaned out winger Ryan Lloyd has conceded that he was unlikely to make the Vale first-team and that he just wanted to “play some football again.”
Lloyd signed a new one-year contract in the summer but he is now on loan at Chester FC until the New Year and there is the possibility that he will not play for the Valiants again.
It didn’t look like it was going to work out for me so I just wanted to get myself out and play some football again…
Lloyd told the Chester Chronicle: “I wasn’t involved at Vale and I thought ‘why not come and enjoy myself and my football again’?
“There has been massive changes there . It is always going to be hard when managers bring their own players in. They have to make a point of playing them as that is what they signed them for. You just have to do as well as you can and hopefully it works out.
“It didn’t look like it was going to work out for me so I just wanted to get myself out and play some football again.
“I wasn’t worried about dropping back down. It is more physical than the Football League but I enjoy it as I am a hard working player and really like the challenge.”
