Port Vale have been drawn at home against fellow League One side Blackpool in the JPT second round draw.
The Valiants last played Blackpool in a competitive fixture back in 2007 although the two sides will meet in League One action this season.
Port Vale’s neighbours Crewe, also in the North West section, will take on Oldham Athletic.
The second round ties will take place on the week commencing the 5th October.
