Tom Baddeley player profile
A goalkeeper, Tom Baddeley was born in Burslem and he joined Port Vale FC in 1893 from local non-league football.
His appearances were limited in his first season (1893-94) but he was an ever-present for the Valiants during the 1894-95 and 1895-96 seasons.
However, he was suspended by the club in August 1896 after agreeing terms with another club and was then sold to top-flight Wolverhampton Wanderers for a fee of £50 in 1896.
He went on to make over 300 appearances for Wolves during a eleven year stay with the majority of his appearances being in the First Division. He also earned five England caps from 1903-4.
He ended his League playing career with short spells with Bradford Park Avenue (1907-1910) and Stoke City in 1910. After a short stint in non-league football, he ended his playing career with a total of 399 senior appearances.
