David Healy player profile:
David Healy was a diminutive Northern Ireland International striker who was signed on loan by Port Vale from Manchester United in February 2000.
Healy remained on loan at the Valiants until the end of the season. His first goal came in a defeat to Fulham in March and he added two more goals by the end of his spell at the club. Unfortunately, the Valiants were still relegated at the end of the 1999-2000 season.
The striker also made his International debut while on loan when he played in a match against Luxemburg in February 2000.
After returning to Old Trafford, Healy had a long playing career at clubs such as Preston North End and Leeds United. He also became Northern Ireland’s all-time top goal scorer with thirty six strikes. He ended his playing career with Bury in 2013 with a record of 99 senior goals scored.
