Wales U21 midfielder Craig Lawton started his career at Manchester United and was a member of a Reserves side which included Ryan Giggs, Keith Gillespie, Nicky Butt, Gary Neville and David Beckham.
Lawton was an unused substitute in a 1993 Premier League fixture but he then suffered a broken leg and subsequently joined Port Vale on a free transfer in the summer of 1994.
He made his debut as a substitute in a game against Watford on New Year’s Eve but sadly suffered a second broken leg when playing for the Port Vale reserve side in March 1995. His full debut came in November 1995 but after just five first-team appearancs in two injured plagued seasons he was eventually released on a free transfer in 1996.
He later moved to Welsh non-league sides Colwyn Bay and Bala Town.
