Vale loan Lines to Bristol Rovers
In a somewhat surprising move, Port Vale midfielder Chris Lines has joined Conference Premier side Bristol Rovers on loan.
Lines will stay with the Pirates until the end of the season. Lines is based in the Bristol area and will no doubt relish the chance to play regular football close to his family.
However, it is a somewhat surprising move as Lines is arguably of a far higher standard than the Conference and would be in line to return to the midfield if either of Michael O’Connor or Michael Brown were injured or suspended.
Perhaps the Valiants have other irons in the fire and will now move to bring in a player on loan to replace Lines?
Manager Rob Page commented: “I’ve said all along that I won’t stand in anyone’s way who has a chance to go and play games.
“Chris has been unfortunate in that he got suspended against MK Dons and, due to the form of Michael Brown and Michael O’Connor, has found it difficult to win his place back.”
