Pope could be on bench for Crewe game
Striker Tom Pope could make his long-awaited return from injury by lining up on the subs bench on Saturday.
Pope has been missing since October as he recovers from a knee injury but Vale are confident that the 29 year-old could be among the substitutes against Crewe.
Pope is still the Valiants’ joint top-scorer with nine goals despite missing the last 13 games.
Pope is one of five former Crewe players in the Vale line-up – the others being Adam Yates, Colin Daniel, Byron Moore and Michael O’Connor.
