Page: We were good for a point
Port Vale manager Rob Page felt that his side deserved a draw during their game against Crewe Alexandra.
Page told the media: “I am bitterly disappointed right now. They did exactly what I had asked of them at the start of the game.
It is disappointing and then we did everything but score in the second half…
“We started brightly and I think it’s important that when we start as brightly as we did that we try to get the goal.
“When we don’t it frustrates us a little bit and it gives them a bit of a lift.
“I said to the players at half time that we got out of jail with the penalty save, then we went and gave them a soft goal in my opinion.
“It is disappointing and then we did everything but score in the second half.
“The players are absolutely gutted because we know we had the lion’s share of it in the second half. But credit to Crewe they have got a goal and they defended it. They have thrown their bodies on the line and defended their 18 yard box at the end.
“I thought we were good for a point in the end.”
