N’Guessan signs as Pope cover
Port Vale sign Dany N’Guessan: the Valiants have acted quickly to replace injured striker Tom Pope by adding free agent Dany N’Guessan to their squad.
“He’s got pedigree,” said Vale interim boss Rob Page. “When we found out he was available, we had him in training.”
The news comes after main forward Tom Pope sustained an injury which will rule him out for some time. The Vale are staying tight-lipped on Pope’s injury but Internet rumours suggest that the targetman could be out of action for the next three months.
The experienced 27 year-old N’Guessan last played for Swindon Town during the 2012-13 League season and was a free agent prior to joining the Valiants.
In the 2013-14 season, the French striker netted eight goals from just fourteen league starts (plus ten sub appearances). The journeyman striker has made over 200 appearances for a string of clubs in both the UK and abroad.
N’Guessan has agreed an initial two-month contract with the football club.
