Sentinel: Slew is top striker target
The Sentinel newspaper claims that Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Slew is Vale’s top forward target but manager Micky Adams has been frustrated by delays to the deal.
Slew is in the final year of a four-year contract at Rovers and is completely out of the first-team picture.
However, the Sentinel understands that the deal has been delayed while Rovers wait to see if any permanent offers are made for the 21 year-old striker.
We’ve identified the player we want, but we have to wait and be patient until the parent club say we can have him…
Adams told the newspaper: “It’s a frustrating chase if you like, but as I’ve said, when players are under contract there is not much we can do. It’s not like they are free agents and we’re fighting with the agent and the player about personal terms.
“We’ve identified the player we want, but we have to wait and be patient until the parent club say we can have him.
“The boy wants to come, he’s made it clear to his parent club and to me that he wants to come.”
