Reserves remain unbeaten against Walsall
Port Vale’s reserves emulated the first-team by compiling an unbeaten record against local rivals Walsall this season.
While the Valiants first-team completed a league double over Walsall, the reserves managed a win and a draw. The victory came back in November when Vale’s second-string recorded a 3-1 away win and the 1-1 draw came at home on Tuesday.
Vale opened the scoring on Tuesday through young striker Jordan Hugill on nine minutes, but the lead only lasted until the twenty first minute when the visitors equalised.
Both sides then had chances to win it but it ended all-square as Vale continued to put years of disappointing results against their old rivals behind them.
Vale Reserves: Pickering, Yates, Price, Davis, Morris (Smith), Carvalho (Reeves), O’Neil, Dodds, Lloyd, Hugill, Taylor
