Hugill’s double reminder
Striker Jordan Hugill has given a timely reminder of his goalscoring prowess by netting twice for the Port Vale reserves.
The reserve side defeated Morecambe 3-0 on Monday thanks to Hugill’s brace and another from Dominic Dell. A strong Vale reserves side included first-team squad members Sam Johnson, Gary O’Neil, Joe Davis and Ryan Lloyd.
The 21 year-old has already netted four times for the first-team but faces a tough task to break into the side as strike rival Ben Williamson has scored two goals in his last three games.
Hugill is one of a number of Port Vale players to be out of contract in the summer and with his potential clear to see, Vale fans will be hoping the club do not leave it too late to tie the youngster to a longer contract.
Hugill’s season so far…
- Gateshead: 4+3 games – 5 goals
- Port Vale: 7+11 games – 4 goals
- TOTAL: 11+14 games – 9 goals
