Duo push for first-team recall
Forwards Ben Williamson and Gavin Tomlin were both on target as a strong Vale reserve side defeated Doncaster 2-0.

Vale named a starting eleven who had all tasted first-team football and won through a 17th minute strike by Tomlin and a 73rd minute goal by Williamson.
Coach Mick Ede said: “It was very good, as you would expect from more senior players.
“We had a lot of possession and at times could have gone forward earlier, but we got our two goals and I was pleased with the performance.
“The first-team don’t have a mid-week match so this was a good opportunity for players to get a game under their belts.
“Richard Duffy came through another 90 minutes and I was pleased for Gavin Tomlin and Ben Williamson who got on the scoresheet.”
