Micky Adams: We’re good enough
Micky Adams has admitted that his fears about the Valiants early in the season were unfounded and that the players “have done great.”
I think we have done great and slightly surprised ourselves and myself…
Adams, who has done a fine job taking Vale to tenth in the table, told the media after the Wolves game that the side would be battling relegation but he now admits his side are better than that commenting: “I think we have done great and slightly surprised ourselves and myself.
“After the Wolves game I questioned whether we were good enough, but I know we are now.
“We have failed at some places and there is no real pattern to it because we have failed against good teams like Wolves, Peterborough and Preston, but also at Oldham and Colchester so there’s no real pattern to the sort of games we win or lose.
“All I know is that if we turn up at any given time and expect to win and don’t do the things we have to, then we will lose.
“We have to be at it. If we are not we become very average, but having said that we have been good enough so far this season.
“Had you said we would be 10th, two points off the play-offs, I think everyone would have taken that and been delighted.”
