So who is Jordan Hugill?
As young striker Jordan Hugill makes his full debut for Port Vale, OVF takes a closer look at the development squad player.
- He was born on the 4th January 1992 making him currently 21 years of age
- Whilst on loan at Gateshead earlier this season he scored five goals in only four starts (plus three sub appearances)
- His first goal for Gateshead came in a 3-2 win over Chester City
- He then scored two in five minutes after coming on the bench against Alfreton
- He arrived at Vale Park in the summer after leaving Yorkshire non-league side Marske United to join Vale’s development squad
- He was part of the Glenn Hoddle academy (pictured right) which has also provided Vale with Ben Williamson and Ryan Burge
- Hugill suffered a serious knee injury earlier in his career from which he has now recovered
- He has also appeared for Whitby Town
- He is the sixth full debutant for the Vale this season (the others being Chris Lines, Carl Dickinson, Chris Robertson, Kaid Mohamed and Gavin Tomlin)
- He wore the number 39 shirt for the game against Crawley
