Adams: Fans need to ‘stay patient’
Manager Micky Adams has appealed for Port Vale supporters to be more patient with his team – and he believes the side’s success away from home proves his point.
If we don’t score in the first 20 minutes, it seems to be a crisis…
Vale have taken more points away from home than at Vale Park and Adams believes that is because teams have adopted a more open approach away from Burslem.
Adams told the Sentinel: “Teams have to come and attack us when we’re playing away.
“It’s not like being at Vale Park, where teams sit behind the ball. We sometimes get nervous and the crowd gets nervous.
“It’s a lesson for our crowd to just stay patient with what we’re trying to do at home because nerves do set in.
“If we don’t score in the first 20 minutes, it seems to be a crisis. But we just have to work out ways to be better.”
