Vincent: Adams will add more new faces
New signing Ashley Vincent has told the Sentinel that he’s “really looking forward” and that manager Micky Adams has promised more new signings are set to come.
Vincent told the newspaper: “I didn’t play many games last year, so this is a big opportunity for me to get my form going.
“I prefer playing as a striker down the middle, probably not as a traditional number nine but playing off a target man.
“I like to get in behind defenders and use my pace, which is my biggest asset.
“I’m really looking forward to the new season.
“The gaffer said there will be more new faces, so these are exciting times.”
Fellow newcomers Jennison Myrie-Williams (pictured right) and Darren Murphy also spoke to the newspaper. Myrie-Williams commented: “I enjoyed my time here, so when I spoke to the manager and he was keen to bring me back, it worked for both of us,” said Myrie-Williams, who was released by the League One outfit at the end of the season.
“It’s good to be somewhere you’re wanted and I fully intend to show what I can do.
“He sold me his vision for the club.”
Murphy (pictured right) added: “I’m going to get a decent pre-season under my belt and go from strength to strength,” he said.
“The manager wants to take Port Vale as far as he can using hard work and I was keen to buy into that.”
