Pope makes it eight goals in two days

Striker Tom Pope followed up his four goal haul against Athlone Town on Wednesday with a further four goals during Thursday’s friendly with Shiven Rovers. Once again, Vale kept a clean sheet to take their summer tally to 29 goals scored and none conceded.

Vale’s opponents, from Ireland’s Roscommon and District League, were hammered 9-0 with Vale’s other goals coming from Louis Dodds, Ashley Vincent, Chris Shuker, John McCombe and Clayton McDonald.
