Boost for Vale as duo sign deals
The Sentinel reports that John McCombe and Tom Pope have both agreed new deals with Port Vale FC.
The signatures of McCombe (two year deal) and Pope (unknown length of contract) mean that Micky Adams has fourteen players under contract for next season.
Vale are now only waiting for Kingsley James, Stuart Tomlinson, Joe Davis and Ryan Lloyd to decide their futures.
McCombe told the Sentinel: “There has been quite a bit of interest and I have had a few good offers, but I told the gaffer quite early on that I wanted to stay.
“I’m really happy at Vale and I want to carry on here, do well and progress my career with the club. I want to play in a higher division, but I want to do that with the Vale.
“I’ve been here a long time now and I’ve loved all – well almost all – of my time. There have been a few ups and downs along the way, but hopefully there are now some good times ahead.”
