Pair share OVF player of season award
The 2012 OVF player of the season award has been awarded jointly to midfielder Anthony Griffith and striker Tom Pope.
The pair finished top of our leaderboard with seven man of the match votes each as the official Port Vale player of the year, Doug Loft, finished one vote behind in third place.
Anthony Griffith, Tom Pope:
7 awards
Doug Loft:
6 awards
Sean Rigg:
4 awards
Griffith came agonisingly close to winning the award for himself as he finished just three votes behind Sean Rigg, who won the MOTM award for the Oxford game, the final game of the season.
It is the second season in a row that the OVF award has been a joint affair with centre-halves John McCombe and Gareth Owen winning last season’s award.
OVF would like to pass on our congratulations to Tom and Anthony and thank all the players for their efforts this season.
We will be continuing our MOTM votes when next season begins.
