Tomlinson: I’ll win fans over
Goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson has told the Sentinel he aims to bounce back after a number of errors earned criticism from the fans.
“I’ve been getting a bit of stick for a couple of errors, so it was particularly nice to keep a clean sheet,” he told the Sentinel.
“Of course, being a keeper is a vulnerable position. If you drop a clanger, there normally isn’t much anyone can do to recover the situation … and everyone remembers.
“I work hard in training to be as reliable as possible, but I can only give 100 per cent.
“I’ve made a couple of mistakes in quick succession, and I can understand people getting a bit annoyed. I’m annoyed with myself.
“Our fans are great and they’re entitled to their opinions. You know when they’re on your back, though, whether you hear shouts during a match or whispers in the week.
“Luckily, I’m a pretty confident person and it will take a lot to stop me bouncing back.”
