We take a look at an FA Cup programme featuring Vale’s FA Cup 5th round replay against Leeds United.
About the game
Played in the 1995-96 season, this fifth round game came after Vale had hit the headlines by knocking cup holders Everton out in the fourth round. It was a replay after the Valiants had creditably held Leeds to a 0-0 draw at Elland Road. However, Vale’s cup run was to come to an end in this game. Tony Naylor put the home side ahead but two late Gary McAllister goals gave Leeds a 2-1 win in front of a crowd of 14,023.
