Rodgers has Vale contract terminated
The Valiants have announced that they have terminated the contract of Luke Rodgers with immediate effect.
The striker now looks set to sign for Yeovil Town, with whom he has spent a month on loan.
Rodgers was expected to sign for Yeovil for a fee of £30,000 but it appears that Vale have reached a satisfactory arrangement for a contract termination without the payment of the transfer fee.
As one of the club’s top earners, if Rodgers’ contract has been terminated without a significant pay-out then it will free up those wages for other Vale signings.
The striker moved to Vale for £30,000 from Crewe in 2007 and made 66 appearances for Vale, scoring 20 times.
