Vale bid for Palace man Sam Togwell
The Staffordshire Sentinel reports that Port Vale have made an undisclosed bid for Crystal Palace loan star Sam Togwell.
Martin Foyle has reportedly told the newspaper that the club are in negotiations over a permanent move for the midfield star.
Togwell was named supporters’ player of the month for January, a month in which his two goals in the FA Cup against Doncaster clinched the fourth-round game at Aston Villa.
Vale have had a cash windfall in recent months and a permanent move for the box-to-box player would be a popular one amongst supporters.
After a slow start in the right-back position, Togwell has impressed when in a central midfield berth.
With competition for places in the Palace first team limited, Togwell may be tempted by the prospect of regular football at Vale Park.
If Togwell signs he would join Nathan Lowndes and Leon Constantine as Martin Foyle’s only cash signings.||
