Charlton fans: it’s doom and gloom at the Valley
There’s not much to cheer about for two Charlton fans ahead of their game against Port Vale…
Thanks to REP for posing the questions to fans from the Charlton Life forum.
OVF Editorial: we want your Charlton back too!
A brief word before we begin… this website supported protests against our board when our club was in real danger of being destroyed as we felt it was the correct thing to do to save the Vale. At that time, fans of other clubs gave their support to Vale fans’ protests. We would like to return that solidarity and offer our support to Charlton fans who are seeking better owners for their club. As members of the football family we stand by you and hope for better times for Charlton Athletic in the near future.
If you are a Vale fan and are not aware of Charlton’s plight why not take a look at these links:

About the fans…
LEN GLOVER I’m an old git who first went to The Valley in 1963.
DAZZLER21 I’ve been a fan since I was a wee nipper. I saw us in the ’90s in the Nationwide Division 1, saw us go up, come down, go up again and had season tickets for six of those seven seasons. Now I still attend games, just nowhere near as regularly.
About the opposition…
How is your team doing this season?
LEN GLOVER We’re hovering above the relegation zone. More or less in line with my expectations given our abysmal regime. I just hope we can stay up.
DAZZLER21 Bloody awful. I was hoping for us to be pushing for the automatic places but instead we could be looking at League Two.
Any players to watch?
LEN GLOVER Ademola Lookman if selected. However, Katrien Meire (our CEO) will probably wrap him in cotton wool for despatch in January…
DAZZLER21 It depends who plays. I suppose we have the hot prospect of Ademola Lookman.
A score prediction and attendance?
LEN GLOVER 1-1 if we have a good day. Otherwise a comfortable victory for you. Lookman to score for us if he plays. 7,000 in the ground but attendance announced as 10,000 plus.
DAZZLER21 6-1 to Port Vale, Lookman to score in the 80th.
About the Vale…
Where do you think Vale will finish?
LEN GLOVER You seem to be doing OK either just in or flirting with the play off positions.
DAZZLER21 I don’t know anything about your lot. Maybe you could share?
A guide for Vale fans…
Can you tell us something about your side we may not know?
LEN GLOVER We formed a political party to get back to The Valley. The ball burst during both our FA Cup final appearances in 1946 and 1947.
Any recommendations for pubs, food and parking?
LEN GLOVER – Antigallican is nearest the station and the Rose of Denmark.
DAZZLER21 – The Rose of Denmark was decent and away friendly last time I went there… a couple of years ago.
