Strong Vale Reserves side beat Walsall
Dan Turner and Rigino Cicilia scored as Michael Brown made a return to playing action for the Vale reserves.
Vale named a very strong line-up with Kiko, Chris Mbamba, Nathan Ferguson, Quentin Pereira, Sam Kelly and Rigino Cicilia all having seen first-team football already this season.
The Valiants took the lead on 20 minutes when Cicilia pounced on a loose ball and beat the keeper in a one-on-one. Then just before half-time, youngster Dan Turner doubled Vale’s advantage.
Assistant manager Michael Brown came on for the second-half to mark his long-awaited return from injury while new signing Gezim Shalaj also got more game time.
It was a valuable win for the Valiants and a useful work-out for the likes of Brown and Shalaj.
