Enoch Andoh’s Ghana U23 side have lost¬†their 2016 Olympic Games qualifier after a penalty shootout in Brazzaville.
Andoh, who was played as a striker, scored the winner in the first-leg as Ghana defeated DR Congo 1-0 but his side lost the second-leg 1-0. With the scores all-square, Ghana U23 crashed out after losing a penalty shootout 5-4.
Ghana’s U23 side conceivably stood a chance of reaching the 2016 Olympic games in Rio but those hopes are now over.¬†Congo will now play Nigeria in the next round.
One bright spot for Vale is that Andoh will now be able to return to pre-season training and with the U23 experience behind him, it may be possible for him to force his way into the first-team reckoning.
