Alan Webb

Time at club: 1984-1992

Appearances: 235

Goals: 3

A consistent right-back, Webb played a part in two promotion campaigns.

Webb was signed on a free transfer by John Rudge in 1984 and was ever-present in his first season with the club.

He was named the Player of the Year in 1985 and he also played in the 1988-89 promotion season.

Webb was versatile enough to play across the back four and although an infrequent goalscorer, he did manage one memorable strike against Norwich in the FA Cup.

He failed to recover completely from a broken leg and was forced into early retirement in 1992.
