Jennison Myrie-Williams’ 75th minute equaliser earned a stuttering Port Vale side a share of the points at home to Dagenham.
Micky Adams had made one change, bringing Sam Morsy into the side at the expense of Rob Taylor.
The teams were lead out by returning RAF duo Steve Buffey and Pete Blakeman who received a rousing reception from the 4,355 present.
But the battling Daggers frustrated Vale early on and the game was goalless at half-time after chances were at a premium.
The visitors had taken the lead on 72 minutes when the otherwise immaculate Chris Neal was unable to stop Luke Howell’s shot entering the net.
Vale equalised when Myrie-Williams went in following Vale pressure.
Vale were unable to put the visitors under sustained pressure and had to settle for a disappointing home draw.
