Former Crewe midfielder Lee Bell has not ruled out a move to Vale Park, but the 28 year-old has told the Sentinel that “I’ve not spoken to Vale.”
The well-travelled midfielder told the newspaper: “I was desperate to stay at Crewe, and thought I might be able to see out my career at the club, but it hasn’t worked out that way.
“I’ve not had time to give my future much thought yet. I’m still celebrating winning promotion at Wembley.
“But I’ve stated before that because I didn’t play regular football when I was younger, I wanted to make up for it by playing well into my 30s.
“I’ve had a couple of phone calls already, but I’m not going to rush into anything.
“I’ve not spoken to Vale. I believe they were keen when I was at Macclesfield.
“They’re on my doorstep, so I can understand why people are putting two and two together, but we will have to wait and see.”
